Americana Heirloom Collection

Upstate Fine Woodworking is proud to offer the Heirloom Collection Line. Cutting boards in these collections boast a specific wood species in each board. These boards are made to last a lifetime. Each board is named after a major city of the country where the wood species is harvested.

The prominent wood in this collection is Jungas nigra or Black Walnut, also known as Walnut or American Walnut, is one of the finest North American lumber species. Black walnut is known for its stunning dark brown rich hue and its hardness which is favorable for fine furniture and cutting boards. What's interesting about black walnut is that it gradually gets lighter with age - adding oil will help to keep the wood darker.

In this collection is other complementing woods sourced from North America such as, Ash, Maple, Cherry and white Oak. Each board is named after a prominent city located in The United States of America where these woods have been locally harvested in the Northeast.
